Welcome to First Baptist Church  of Goldthwaite
About Sunday Morning Worship Gathering
10:00am Worship

A multi-generational style of worship and a message from our pastor, Greg Lewis. You will find a whole-hearted commitment to being the kind of worshipers God seeks. Challenging Biblical truth, intentional prayer, Scripture meditation, a celebration of God-sized victories, and heart-felt, sincere, relevant songs of praise will be the staples of our time together.

We have adequate parking all around our facilities including handicapped parking as well as designated parking spaces for our guests.

Where Do I Go When

Our main entrance is located on the Southeast side of the main building. There is guest parking outside that entrance. On the steps of our church, you will be greeted by several people who are willing to help you find a Bible Study or place in the Worship Center.

What Can I Expect On My First Visit?
A Welcoming Atmosphere

First, you can expect to be greeted by someone before you even enter the doors of our building. Other friendly folks will be happy to assist you in finding your way around and can give you more information about our church. During worship, we will invite you to fill out a guest registration card so that we can get to know you better, but it is optional.

What do I wear?

Some people like to wear their “Sunday best” while most people wear what could be described as “business casual”, but we want you to wear what you feel comfortable wearing. God sees your heart.

What is The Worship Service Like?

Our worship services are approximately 60 - 75 minutes long. We utilize a variety of music styles. An offering is taken during the service, but please do not feel obligated to give anything unless you would like to do so. Our pastor delivers a message from the Bible including how it applies to our everyday life. Toward the end of the service, the pastor will invite people to come forward to make spiritual decisions or join the church if they choose to do so. If you just want to talk to someone or have them pray for you, we are happy to arrange for that as well. To listen to a recent sermon by our pastor, click here.

What About Kids And Students?
Where do I take my children?

If you have a child age 4 or under, someone can escort you to our Nursery where they will be cared for by loving and qualified caregivers. You will be given a security tag which matches a tag placed on your child’s clothing to make sure that you, as the authorized parent or guardian, are the only person able to take them home whenever you leave. If our nursery staff ever needs to contact you immediately, you can give them your mobile phone number and they can text you.

If you prefer a quiet place to change a diaper or nurse your baby, we also provide a Mother’s Suite in our Chapel. This room includes a rocking chair, changing table, toys and a tv connected to our worship livestream. Our ushers are happy to escort you there.

For older children, activity bags are provided in our lobby area. Bags should be returned to the designated box in the lobby after worship.

What do you offer for teenagers (grades 6 – 12)?

We provide a small group just for them on Sundays at 9:00am. On Wednesday nights during the school year, we provide a meal, games, music and small group Bible studies. For information about other student activities, go to the Vertical Student ministry page here, or contact the church office.

PRESCHOOL

We have care available on Sunday Morning for babies through Preschool. Each week, kids experience age-appropriate Bible teaching in a fun, loving, and exciting environment. Our Preshool Ministry works hard to provide a fun and safe environment that is “kid tested and mother approved”!

CHILDREN

Our Children's Ministry is designed for your kids Kindergarten through 5th Grade! We have Bible studies during the 9a hour where they will experience a Bible Study lesson through games, crafts, teaching and other useful methods to effectively connect your child with the truth of Jesus Christ.

STUDENTS

Students are an active part of our church. Vertical Students has opportunities for students to connect in a fun way to grow in their faith.  Students meet for Bible Study Sunday mornings @9a and for "Vertical" every Wednesday Night. Mission Trips, retreat weekends, and fun events are on the schedule throughout the year.
