Many opportunities to serve the people of Mills County arise throughout the year but here are just some of the ways we try to reach out to our community…

Mills County Ministerial Association
The Mills County Ministerial Association includes most of the churches in our county and together we carry out community outreach programs throughout the year. In addition to offering Utility Assistance and planning various worship services throughtout the year, the MA also condutct the ”Christmas Wish” program each December, a county wide effort that collects and distributes gifts for the children and food for over 120 families. Twice a year we also offer a “Car Check-Up” where we check fluid levels, air up tires, and wash windows. This service is open to anyone, especially senior adults.
Out of Town…
Mission Arlington
Each year on Spring Break our church takes a mission trip to “Mission Arlington” where we do a backyard Bible Club called “Rainbow Express” in apartment complexes throughout the Metroplex, as well as other community service work. All ages are invited to participate. For more information on “Mission Arlington”, visit their website at www.missionarlington.org or contact Patrick Berg, Minister of Students.
Ecuador Mission Trip
In July of 2011, Patrick and Emily Berg and Mallory Pearson traveled to Quito, Ecuador where they partnered up with IMB Missionary Ron Sutton and others to spread the gospel. During their trip they did house-to-house evangelism and helped plant churches in the community. To find out more about thier journey, please visit our church’s Blog.
Offerings…
We contribute to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, Annie Armstrong Easter Offering and the Mary Hill Davis Offering.
Birthday Offering for World Hunger
The last Sunday of each month we have the people who celebrated a birthday in that month to come down to the front so the congregation may sing “Happy Birthday” to them as they present their offering! They are asked to donate a dime for each year and this collection goes towards World Hunger. During 2011, $2,537.31 was given to help provide food, clean drinking water, job training, and micro-enterprise aid.
